An educational video produced by Gunma Prefecture and TOKYO FM is now available.

Let's learn about HPV vaccine, an option to prevent cervical cancer

TOKYO FM, in cooperation with Gunma Prefecture, has produced and released an animated video "Let's learn about HPV vaccine, a means to protect you" to raise awareness about cervical cancer prevention.

Contents of the animation

In this animation, a high school student and her mother learn from a doctor about the HPV vaccine as a cervical cancer prevention option. The mother is played by voice actress Ryoka Yuzuki, the high school daughter by Aoi Koga, and the narration by Shinichiro Miki.

The video provides an easy-to-understand explanation of HPV (human papillomavirus), the cause of cervical cancer, its infection route and symptoms, and the preventive effect of HPV vaccination. It also includes interviews with a high school student who actually received the HPV vaccine and a mother who recommends that her daughter be vaccinated, providing a more realistic voice to the viewer.

The leaflets have been distributed at schools and stores of sponsor companies in Gunma Prefecture since mid-July.

Importance of Cervical Cancer Prevention

Cervical cancer is a disease that can occur even in young women. In recent years, the incidence of cervical cancer has been on the rise and has become a serious problem. However, it has been verified that vaccination with the 9-valent HPV vaccine is 80-90% effective in preventing the disease.

The purpose of this animated video and leaflet is to spread correct knowledge about the HPV vaccine and to encourage as many people as possible to get vaccinated.

TOKYO FM

TOKYO FM will continue to work with Gunma Prefecture to promote various initiatives to solve issues in the local community.
This time, Gunma Prefecture's educational activities are appealing to the younger generation with "animated videos" targeting the younger generation.
We hope that people will learn about the HPV vaccine in a variety of ways, and if they feel that vaccination is necessary, they should get vaccinated.
Of course, there is a possibility of adverse reactions, so you should consider the risks and decide for yourself whether you think the vaccine is right for you or not.
