Shannan Doherty dies at 53 after battle with breast cancer
Shannan Doherty, the actress who played the role of Brenda Walsh in the popular 1990s drama "Beverly Hills High School, White Paper of Youth" and attracted many fans, passed away on July 13 (local time) at the age of 53 after a battle with breast cancer.

A Brilliant Career and Sudden Illness
Ms. Doherty was born on April 12, 1971, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A. She began appearing in TV dramas in the late 1980s and got her big break as Brenda in "Beverly Hills High School, White Paper of Youth. She continued to appear in a number of dramas, including the role of Prudence (Prue) Halliwell, the eldest daughter on "Charmed - The Three Witch Sisters."
However, in 2015, at the age of 44, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing chemotherapy and a mastectomy, she was declared in remission in 2017, but her breast cancer returned in 2019. She announced that she had stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and continued to fight the disease.

Strength to face challenges and support from others
During her battle with the disease, Ms. Doherty actively shared her experience and continued to emphasize the current state of cancer and the importance of breast cancer screenings.
She also never gave up her acting career, and in 2019, she guest starred in "Riverdale" in honor of Luke Perry, who died of a stroke.
She also appeared in "Beverly Hills Reunion White Paper" in 2022, reuniting the original cast of "Beverly Hills High School and Youth White Paper," where she wowed fans with her unchanged beauty and acting ability.
Upon receiving the news of Ms. Doherty's passing, many of her co-stars and friends have offered their condolences.
Jennie Garth, who co-starred in "Beverly Hills High School White Paper," said, "Shannan was like family to me. Her strength, humor, and kindness will forever be remembered."
