Kochi Prefecture held a "Cancer Screening Campaign" in which a pair of visitors could win a lodging voucher and other prizes!
Early Detection and Early Treatment of Cancer Makes More People Well
Kochi Prefecture has the fourth highest percentage of people dying from cancer in Japan, making early detection and early treatment an issue.
On the other hand, many people are reluctant to undergo medical checkups alone.
Therefore, Kochi Prefecture has launched the "Let's Go Together! Cancer Screening Campaign 2024," a campaign in which couples who undergo the screening in pairs will be entered into a drawing to win hotel accommodation tickets and other prizes.

Campaign Outline
Eligibility: Pairs of two persons aged 20 or older residing in Kochi Prefecture who underwent cancer screening between April 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024.
Eligible examinations: Stomach, lung, colon, breast, and cervical cancer
How to apply: Enter the date of the cancer screening for two people and the medical institution where they received the screening on the special campaign website.
Application period: Until January 31, 2025
Prizes:
Luxurious products including hotel accommodation tickets for a pair (300 pairs to be selected by drawing)
Kochi Prefecture's Health Examination Rate: Current Status and Challenges
The screening rate for people in their 40s and 50s in Kochi Prefecture is 40% to 60% for stomach, lung, and colon cancer, which is lower than the national average.

Aim of the Campaign
This campaign aims to reduce resistance to screening and increase the screening rate by pairing people up for screening.
Call for action by Kochi Prefecture Health Measures Division
Currently, more than 90% of people with cancer can be cured if the disease is detected and treated at an early stage. The Kochi Prefectural Health Measures Section encourages people to get regular checkups by inviting someone close to you.
Why don't you and your loved ones get checked together?
Early detection and early treatment are the most important factors for cancer. Let's take this cancer screening campaign as an opportunity to get screened together with your loved ones and maintain a healthy life.
